Move into connection with Parent-Child Creative Movement classes! Safely physically distanced but not socially distanced in the beautiful UT gardens.

These classes are fun for all ages, but are designed to work best for ages 3-6 (all siblings welcome). This is an opportunity for the whole family to explore connection through developmental movement, spatial and rhythmic awareness, sensory motor integration and dancing just for the joy of it! Your child will expand their creative problem solving and physical skills as you add to your playful parenting toolkit. You will relax and have fun as you enjoy getting into your bodies and finding your groove together, exploring co-regulation through expression and movement. Each class includes a mind-body connecting warm up and a fun theme based on the basic elements of movement such as space, time, and force. Best of all is that you won’t even notice that you’re getting exercise and you get some social interaction from a safe distance!
The classes are taught by Angela Hill, a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Parenting Coach with a BFA in Dance Education and over 25 years of experience teaching movement in a variety of settings. She started teaching these classes in 2010 with her first child.

$10 per family - Space is limited, and registration is required to ensure appropriate physical distancing. All proceeds will be shared between UT Gardens and The Women LLC of Knoxville - an organization that funds local Black-owned startups. You’ll get details about where to go and other things to know when you register.

This class is offered rain or shine since we can dance under the pavilion. I will reschedule and offer refunds/make ups in case of dangerous weather (lightning).
