Come and join the spirits for a tour of Downtown Knoxville’s scariest landmarks. The tours, which last approximately one and
a half hours each, will visit the sites of some of Knoxville’s best kept secrets. The tour will be about one and a half miles in length. All tours begin and end at James White’s Fort. Each tour will end with a marshmallow roast around the fires at the Fort.

GO! Contemporary Dance Works: PUSH

GO! Contemporary Dance Works will begin its 13th season at the Clarence Brown Theatre with PUSH, a diverse and electric performance that will enthrall audiences of all ages. Among the works to be presented in PUSH is “Frequency” by guest choreographer Marlayna Locklear, who is currently performing with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. McKee will premiere a large, unprecedented work entitled “The Manifest” which explores the suppression of artistic individuality and free thinking by a single minded order. A large collaborative effort, McKee commissioned both Andre Hayter to compose the music score and the Bearden High School Art Honors Society to create artwork. GO! performance is suitable for all ages.

Adult tickets in advance $18 and $12.00 for children/students/seniors. Sunday, matinee at 3PM, October 18 will participate in Penny4Arts (see www.penny4arts.com). Sequoyah Birthplace Museum: Half-Price Admission Days

Join us at Sequoyah Birthplace Museum for a half price admission weekend - children 12 and under are free for this special weekend! Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians enrolled member, Dawn Arneach will be on hand all weekend to help with Cherokee genealogy. Stop by and listen to Lloyd Arneach tell Cherokee stories. We will also have a vendor on hand selling Cherokee crafts and books.

The museum is named for Sequoyah, a Cherokee, who could not read or write in any language, who perfected the Syllabary, a system for reading and writing the Cherokee language so that the nation and its heritage would live forever.

Clayton Center for the Arts: The Traveling Kind Tour: Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell

Celebrating their second album together, Harris and Crowell, both Grammy winners, announced their national tour on May 15. The Clayton Center is excited to be a part of this tour and will open the season celebrating this duet.

The Traveling Kind follows the longtime friends’ first duet album, 2013’s Old Yellow Moon, which won Best Americana Album at the 56th annual Grammy Awards as well as two awards at the 2013 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards Show, for Album of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year.

Knoxville Opera Goes to Church

FARE Walk for Food Allergy

The FARE Walk for Food Allergy raises critical funds and awareness each year to support Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in its mission to improve the quality of life and health of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them hope through the promise of new treatments.
Join FARE and the food allergy community in Knoxville to raise funds and awareness about this growing public health issues. The event will be held on October 17th, 2015 at World’s Fair Park. In its inaugural year, the FARE Walk in Knoxville raised more than $18,000 with a goal of just $10,000 and saw over 300 participants. This year’s walk will be even bigger and better featuring a dedicated Kid’s Zone, a Teal Pumpkin Painting Station, a Halloween costume contest and more! This year’s Walk Chairs’ Becky Basalone and Amanda Painter of the local food allergy support and education group FACET (Food Allergy Community of East Tennessee) are dedicated to helping FARE produce a safe event where food-allergy families can come together for a day of networking and most of all...fun!

Dre Hilton presents The Little People Big Dreams Show at the Knoxville Museum of Art, October 17, 2015 at 11:00AM. Dre Hilton is a singer, songwriter, and music producer who devotes all three talents into making music for children. In the summer of 2014, he released his first single titled “Yes I Can Can”. This song delivers a powerful message telling kids they can do anything and can be anyone they want to be. This song is featured on his latest CD, titled “ Little People Big Dreams”. His music inspires kids to dream big and to reach for their goals. He is taking his music and message around the world. He is touring schools, churches, and youth organizations. Oak Ridge Civic Music Association: Stiletto Brass Quintet

The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association is pleased to present the Stiletto Brass Quintet at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge. The Stiletto Brass Quintet, formed in 2010, features five highly accomplished women with careers spanning the fields of orchestral, wind band, and brass chamber music. They include Amy Gilreath and Cathy Leach, trumpets; Misty Tolle, French horn; Nicole Abissi, trombone; and Velvet Brown, tuba.

The Quintet has gained exposure as a leading ensemble with performances that audiences have greeted with rousing ovations at the International Women's Brass Conference, the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the National Trumpet Competition, the Great American Brass Band Festival, and with Doc Severinsen and the Heartland Festival Orchestra.

The concert will include beloved music by Giacomo Puccini and Jean-Phillippe Rameau, and will also include new music from Drew Bonner, commissioned by the Stiletto Brass Quintet. Tickets are $25 for adults; $10 for young adults and youth (ages 29 and under). The Stiletto Brass Quintet’s appearance is made possible by the generous support of Chuck and Nancy Coutant, in memory of Nancy Coutant’s father, Wilson T. Boerstler, a lifelong trumpet player.
