UT Gardens: Fall Plant Sale & Rosemary Jubilee

We're gearing up for another Fabulous Fall Plant Sale! Come shop our unique selection of plants and while you're here enjoy our new herb event, the Rosemary Jubilee. We'll be hosting local craft vendors and holding three unique workshops focusing on rosemary. Now is the time to harvest your rosemary and we'll show you how to use it! Are you looking for planting and landscaping advice? Garden staff and Master Gardeners will be on hand to help customers with plant suggestions and expert gardening tips.

The public sale will be held from 9am - 2pm on Saturday, September 21 at the UT Gardens in Knoxville. Garden members can shop the preview sale on Friday, September 20 from 4 - 7pm. Memberships may be purchased or renewed during the preview sale or the public sale. In addition to having an early shopping opportunity, garden members receive 10% off their plant sale purchases during the preview or the public sale.

Come by A1LabArts between 2-4 PM on Saturday, September 21st, to create your own photogram in our Pop-Up Darkroom! You may make up to three unique pieces of 4x6” art that you will print yourself in our Darkroom!

UT Arboretum Society: Third Saturday Hike

The UT Arboretum Society’s Annual Fall Wildflower Walk will be held September 21 at Haw Ridge Park in Oak Ridge from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This year’s walk will also serve as the Arboretum Society’s monthly Third Saturday Hike.

Kris Light, an expert naturalist, educator and photographer will lead this fun, educational and easy walk. The group will meet at the kiosk by the Soccer Trail in the parking lot off Edgemoor Road at Haw Ridge. Participants may want to bring a camera to take pictures of the wildflowers. Wear clothes appropriate to the weather and boots or good shoes for outdoor walking. Be sure to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated as you hike. No pets please!

Describing the walk, Light said, “Most people think of springtime as wildflower season, but late summer and fall color the fields and roadsides in gold, purple and white. Come to the fall wildflower walk to learn more about the wildflowers of the fields. “
