Repticon made further headway into Tennessee in February 2014 with the exciting arrival of Repticon Knoxville! Now hosted at the Kerbela Shriners, enthusiasts will enjoy this opportunity of another great reptile and exotic animal show with thousands of top quality animals not found anywhere else in the area. The complete experience includes socializing with fellow herpers in interactive live animal presentations, free raffles, and shopping among all the supplies, cages, merchandise and feeders to support new pets. American Humorist Nick Offerman brings his "All Rise" tour to Knoxville Civic Auditorium on Saturday, November 9.
Nick Offerman is an actor, writer and woodworker, best known as the character of Ron Swanson on NBC's hit comedy series "Parks & Recreation." The show, in which he starred with Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, and Aziz Ansari, wrapped its 7th and final season in 2015. For his work on the show, Offerman won a Television Critics Association Award for Achievement in Comedy in 2011, having earned his first nomination in 2010. He also received two Critics' Choice Television Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Most recently, Offerman voiced a character in the English-language version to the French animated feature MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI and he starred in The Weinstein Company's THE FOUNDER alongside Michael Keaton and John Carroll Lynch. He also lent his voice to two animated films including SING and ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE. At this year's Sundance Film Festival, he was seen in THE LITTLE HOURS in which he stars alongside Alison Brie and Dave Franco and THE HERO alongside Sam Elliott, Laura Prepon and Krysten Ritter.

SHADOWS OF THE 60's pays tribute to the legendary stars of Motown, such as The Supremes, The Four Tops, Temptations and Smokey Robison & The Miracles. In this highly interactive and visually stunning production, SHADOWS OF THE 60's perform the hits that span several decades. Featuring top industry musicians and singers dressed in exquisitely designed costumes and dazzling choreography, Shadows Of the 60's present the music of Motown with the intensity of the original recorded performances. Each singer and musician were chosen because they embody the spirit, style and excitement of the original artists in concert. Close your eyes and you will hear the magic of Motown, open them and you will see and feel the raw "front row" experience of attending a live Motown concert, circa 1964.

Old-Time, Western Swing & Hillbilly Jazz

Jubilee Community Arts will hold a fundraising event to support general operations at the Laurel Theater featuring a silent auction beginning at 7 pm and music by the Tennessee Stifflegs beginning at 8 pm. The auction will offer the work of local artists as well as donations from area individuals and businesses. Income from the auction supports general operations at Jubilee Community Arts.

The Tennessee Stifflegs are a four-piece string band from Knoxville featuring a repertoire of old-time country, western swing and hillbilly jazz. Steeped in the tradition of Appalachian string band music, the Stifflegs have played square dances and fiddler's conventions throughout the region. In addition to the group's spirited fiddle-led numbers, the Stifflegs also showcase a unique take on a wide variety of classic American music, including harmony-driven ballads and upbeat jazz standards. The Tennessee Stifflegs are Frank Bronson, fiddle & vocals, Thomas McNair, guitar & vocals, Tom Cook, bass and Nathan Black, banjo & lap steel.

Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center: Smoky Junction Model Train Exhibit

This Holiday Season, the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center is proud to announce the return of the Smoky Junction Model Train Exhibit. Running through the season, the exhibit is sure to be a delightful experience, because nothing says holiday enchantment quite like seeing little faces look on in wonderment as model trains zip by. With three different displays and including a bit of history from the Townsend/ Walland area, this exhibit will showcase different styles and scales of model trains and is sure to be a joy to the whole family, as well as train enthusiasts.

This exhibit, in operation on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at the Heritage Center, brings back the fond memories of the holiday trains of our childhoods. “The Maryville Model Railroad Club has been instrumental in helping us design and creating these displays. We hope that this experience becomes an annual holiday tradition for the families in our community and for folks of all ages.” says Logan Hull, Director of Special Events at the Heritage Center. “We hope that we can create memories that will last a lifetime for families and promote this unique hobby, all while sharing the great history of this region. This is the perfect way for the Heritage Center to promote the history of our region in a fun and engaging way, while giving our guests an experience like none other!”

A special “Boarding Pass” will be included in the admission price to the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center ($8 for adults, $6 for Children & Seniors) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from November 8th through January 5th. It can also be purchased separately for only $4 for ages 6 and up. This experience is free to the members of the Heritage Center. Each day the trains are running, a knowledgeable member of the MMRC will be onsite to answer any questions and to show how they run the trains.
