Smoky Mountain Blues Society Blues Cruise: Mighty Blue

  • October 20, 2019
  • 4:00-7:00PM

Category: Music

Don't miss the 2019 Smoky Mountain Blues Society Blues Cruise finale, featuring local-favorite Mighty Blue on Sunday, October 20th.

Mighty Blue just released their self-titled EP-CD on September 5! That same day, they opened for Southern Avenue as part of the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series.

Back in August 2017, Mighty Blue won the Regional International Blues Challenge (IBC) in East Tennessee, and in January 2018 traveled to Memphis to challenge over 200 bands from around the globe in the IBC finals. Playing for and competing with the world's top musicians was a thrilling achievement, and Mighty Blue has returned home to reign as one of Knoxville's top blues bands. Guaranteed to get you on your feet with their blues, rock, funk and soul; their high energy mix is an irresistible good time for any occasion.

Current band members include: Chelsea Samples (Vocals), Joel Seaton (Bass/vocals), Dave Eckman (Sax), Michael James (Guitar/vocals), Robert Dean (Drums//vocals), and our newest addition, Jaimie Cameron (Guitar/vocals).

Although the Blues is still Mighty Blue's calling, with its new, eclectic line-up, it's hard not to jump into some satisfying soul or a funky vibe, sprinkled with some saucy swing and rock-n-roll to boot. No matter what style they are playing, you are gonna wanna use your feet, cause this is BLUES you can USE!
